                           MTRFDEL.EXE HELP

MTRFDEL.EXE is an uninstall utility for Mechon Mamre's older MTR
Torah Shareware Packages, even those using Hebrew filenames, which
generally cannot be erased under normal DOS or Windows. Just run
MTRFDEL from your DOS prompt. (Please do not run it directly under
Windows95/98, because Windows95/98 usually refuses to find files with
Hebrew filenames; but its DOS works ok.) The recent MTR Freeware
packages can be easily erased from any version of DOS or Windows.

NOTE: If you have installed one of the recent versions of MTR in a
subdirectory instead of at the root, it will work just fine; but
MTRFDEL will not be able find it to erase it. Just use DELTREE or the
Windows File Manager instead.

MTRFDEL simply searches for any directory named \MTR on any disk from
C: to Z:; if it finds one, it asks permission to erase it, and if
permission is given, it erases it and looks for more. Before
finishing, it rechecks C: to Z: to see that no \MTR exists, and
reports that there aren't any (unless there are, of course).

You get a chance to agree to the erasure by pressing first "y" (for
yes) and then "r" (for really), using two different keys to avoid any
but clearly intentional erasure.

If you already had Hebrew filename support, you could just as well use
DOS's DELTREE or the Windows File Manager; but you probably haven't
got Hebrew filename support.

If MTRFDEL doesn't work for you, write mtr@mechon-mamre.org for help
(so far, no one has had any problems here, thank goodness; no problems
are anticipated, unless MTR is on a network and the user does not have
permission to erase files!).
